Painters Pants
by John Howell on 01/18/12
These are the best painter pants I have used.![]()
I have people ask me all the time why painters wear white shirts and pants.
Well, it's a uniform that set's us apart from other trades. I like it myself because I feel that whatever I do in life I really want to not only be able to perform the job proper, but look the part also.
If you have ever seen someone get white paint on dark pants you know it just does not look to good.
Washougal Interior
by John Howell on 12/18/11

We completed this one last week in Washougal,WA
If you are going to paint dark colors you will still want to have clean lines. I know you can't tell in this picture but the walls and ceiling in this home have very rough walls, this makes it very hard for even a good painter to leave clean lines. Seasoned painters have learned how to get clean lines on all surfaces.
So if you are going to paint dark colors and in deed if you have rough walls make sure you hire a good painter, and leave the hassle to us.

This is a house that needed a paint job really bad. The colors we picked out go really well with the roof and entry way. Very nice family we worked for.

This is a house we did in the fall of this year, it turned out real well, as you can see the front was a lot of work, but we enjoyed it very much. This house is located very close to Washougal high school.Let's do it!

Do you want to add some life to a room and wake up your living space? You can add an accent wall to any area, but some rooms just need a little extra help. Painting an "accent wall" in a dramatic color can liven up a room and enhance the look of your decor. Consider the size of the room, and the molding/ trim you would like to contrast to. If you have permanent features like brick, consider hues that would work well with those natural colors. Remember that light colors do make a room look larger, so you can add darker colors to walls you would like to shorten, and lighter colors to walls that you would like to seem larger. I usually recommend my clients us a lighter color for the ceilings because a lot of our homes have low ceilings and this will allow the ceiling to look further away, or more open. Also remember that the lighting in your home may be different than in the store where you choose your colors. Your best bet is to bring home samples of the colors you like and apply them to you walls in a good large area. Keep in mind that the larger the area with and accent color the more intense it will look. Your sample color should be of the same paint sheen you are thinking of using. If you are confused about how to find the right colors I would be happy to help you pick some great colors.

House painting is fun right?
by John Howell on 03/29/10
Well I have painted most of my life, and yes sometimes it is fun, most of the the time it's just work. I know a lot of homeoners think it will be fun to take on a project like painting their home. The way I feel about it? I would say maybe take on a smaller task like painting a bedroom to see if in deed you really do have fun at painting, that way you wont be stuck in the middle of a big job and see no end to it.
